The research focuses on using data and models to recognize housing quality in Amsterdam through ground-level and aerial imagery. Google StreetView (GSV) is compared to Flickr images, with GSV showing more accurate building quality predictions. By combining Flickr image features with aerial image features, the performance gap to GSV features is reduced from 30% to 15%. The study aims to find viable alternatives to GSV for predicting liveability factors, as GSV images are challenging to acquire.
