This research article introduces a comprehensive autonomous navigation system for wheeled-legged robots that seamlessly integrates adaptive locomotion control and mobility-aware navigation planning. The key highlights are: Locomotion Control: Developed a robust and versatile locomotion controller using model-free reinforcement learning and privileged learning. The controller can adaptively select gaits and transition between walking and driving modes based on the terrain conditions. Demonstrated high-speed locomotion (up to 5 m/s) and efficient traversal of various obstacles like stairs, steps, and uneven terrain. Navigation Control: Designed a hierarchical reinforcement learning framework that tightly couples navigation planning and path-following control.
