Core Concepts
Polynomial-time approximation schemes for induced subgraph problems on fractionally tree-independence-number-fragile graphs.
Abstract
This article explores the concept of fractional tree-independence-number-fragility and its applications in solving induced subgraph problems. It unifies various polynomial-time approximation schemes on different graph classes and introduces the notion of layered tree-independence number. The study extends to exact subexponential-time algorithms and meta-problems like Max Induced Π-Subgraph. The work provides insights into the underlying reasons for the existence of PTASes for Independent Set and generalizes to a framework of maximization problems.
Stats
