The author argues that adipokinetic hormone signaling plays a crucial role in the fecundity of Diaphorina citri infected by Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus, impacting lipid metabolism and reproductive behavior.
Samenvatting
The study explores how CLas infection affects the fecundity of D. citri through AKH/AKHR signaling, miRNA regulation, and JH pathway involvement. CLas-positive psyllids showed increased TAG and glycogen levels, larger lipid droplets, and enhanced fecundity compared to CLas-negative psyllids. Knockdown of DcAKH and DcAKHR resulted in reduced fecundity, altered lipid metabolism, and decreased CLas titers in ovaries. The study highlights a mutualistic interaction between CLas and D. citri ovaries mediated by AKH/AKHR signaling.
Statistieken

Knockdown of DcAKH resulted in TAG accumulation and a significant decrease in glycogen.
Knockdown of DcAKHR led to TAG accumulation and a significant decrease in glycogen.
The relative JH titer in the abdomen decreased significantly after dsDcAKH treatment for 48 h.
Knockdown of DcAKHR resulted in a decrease in the expression of JH pathway-related genes.
miR-34 overexpression led to the accumulation of TAG and reduction of glycogen levels.
