Eine Technik zur schnellen und genauen Schätzung des GSNR aller möglichen EtE-Übertragungswege unter Verwendung eines QoT-Sondierkanals, der Verbindung für Verbindung bei beliebigen, leicht messbaren Modulationsformaten und Modulatoren misst, sowie ein Ansatz zur Auswahl des optimalen Modus in kurzer Zeit basierend auf der Gauß'schen Rauschapproximation mit einer Geräte-Software-Architektur, die servertechnologien wie Container und die Hardware-Abstraktionsschnittstelle für kohärente Module nutzt.

Für Anwendungen in verketteter Codierung für optische Kommunikationssysteme untersuchen wir die Codierung und Soft-Decodierung kurzer sphärischer Codes, die als konstante Energieschalen der kartesischen Potenz von Puls-Amplituden-Modulations-Konstellationen konstruiert sind. Diese sind Vereinigungen von Permutationscodes mit der gleichen Durchschnittsleistung. Wir konstruieren einen Listendecodierer für Permutationscodes, indem wir Murtys Algorithmus anpassen, der dann verwendet wird, um Kurven der gegenseitigen Information für diese Permutationscodes zu bestimmen. Dabei entdecken wir einen einfachen Ausdruck zur Bestimmung der Wahrscheinlichkeit großer Subcodes von Permutationscodes. Wir bezeichnen diese Subcodes, die durch alle möglichen Vorzeichenumkehrungen eines gegebenen Permutationscodeworts erhalten werden, als Orbits. Wir führen einen einfachen Prozess ein, den wir als Orbit-Decodierung mit eingefrorenen Symbolen bezeichnen, der es uns ermöglicht, weiche Informationen aus verrauschten Permutationscodewörtern zu extrahieren.
Die Arbeit untersucht die Informationsraten der sukzessiven Interferenzunterdrückung (SIC) für optische Faserkommunikation. SIC wird verwendet, um sich den erreichbaren Informationsraten (AIR) der gemeinsamen Erkennung und Decodierung für Langstrecken-Glasfaserverbindungen anzunähern.
Ein ratenadaptives geometrisches Konstellation-Formungsschema, das vollständig rückwärtskompatibel mit bestehenden Bit-interleaved-codierter Modulation (BICM)-Systemen ist, wird vorgeschlagen und experimentell demonstriert.
